ha ha ha!

Very true though...

I loved every night of that Worcester run. I too was in college, in Danbury CT, and we drove back and forth to each of thses shows so I could go to class - just shows that you only really need half a brain if you have 100% motivation...

On the way to this show we got pulled over by a Mass Statey because my one friend is the extreme cop magnet. As the patrol car pulled along side of us, my friend realized it was a female officer and he oogled her - saying to us in the car "man look at that, a hot cop". No sooner had those words left his lips and she slowed down, pulled in right behind us an Whamo - on come the lights. I was driving and my car had Cali plates, I had a CT DL and we were a bunch stoned college students on the way to the show in Mass. Luckily I had a way of using the force under these types of circumstances.

Me: "we're just college students on our way to Boston"

Her: "You look like college students, you must heading to Boston"

Me: "you don't need to search the car"

her: "I don't need to search the car"

Me: "He didn't mean anything by that"

Her: "I guess he didn't mean anything by that"

Me: "we'll just get going and we won't cause any more trouble"

Her: "go on your way and don't cause any more trouble"

It was always my job to talk to the police when things got dicey...and I was almost always able to talk my way out of trouble...even with cuffs on...and material in my pocket...but thats from another time and another Dead show.

Spring '87 was fun fun fun!
